Polyphone is unique in the opportunities it provides to pair writer/composer/director teams with designers to continue the development of new musicals.

In this virtual space, we have fewer opportunities to connect and cross-pollinate as a community. To build community and share what has been developing inside each process, we invited each team to share space and discuss what has been developing. This has been a wonderful way to celebrate the work of all of the artists and learn more about their shows, their goals and their processes. Each of these four 2021 Polyphone shows is expanding the boundaries of the musical theater form, and each team has chosen to explore their show through the Polyphone process in a unique way.

Each conversation includes an overview introduction of the musical, a history of the development prior to Polyphone, updates on how the piece is developing in collaboration with designers RIGHT NOW and opportunities for questions. Each recording is about an hour.
